Cindy Umanzor Represents ASG at Prestigious AIA LFRT Deans Forum in New York City

We are thrilled to announce that Cindy Umanzor, a dedicated architectural practitioner and masters student at Architectural Support Group, has been invited to attend the prestigious AIA Large Firm Roundtable (LFRT) Deans Forum. This notable event will be held on October 16, 2024, at The Center for Architecture in New York City.
Cindy has been personally invited by her professor, Dr. Anna Franz, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Student Success at the University of the District of Columbia, to join her at this significant gathering.
The LFRT Deans Forum is a biannual event that brings together Deans, Chairs, and Leaders of accredited architecture programs from across the United States, along with leaders from some of the largest architecture firms in the nation. The forum serves as a critical platform for discussing the future of the architecture profession and academia, particularly focusing on increasing diversification within the field.
Six and a half years ago, the LFRT, in collaboration with the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), committed to enhancing the diversification of the architecture profession. This year’s forum promises to continue these vital discussions, with a focus on the unique challenges and needs of HBCUs and Minority-Serving Institutions (MSI) that offer architecture programs.
Cindy’s participation is not just a testament to her hard work and dedication but also an opportunity for her to contribute to the shaping of the architectural landscape alongside esteemed professionals and academics. During the forum, participants will brief the assembly on their programs’ focus, challenges, goals, and interactions with the professional community.
We encourage everyone to join us in congratulating Cindy Umanzor on this wonderful achievement and opportunity. It is through engagements like these that we continue to strive towards a more inclusive and dynamic future for the architecture profession.
Please stay tuned for updates and insights from Cindy’s experience at the forum.
